Yes! Somna uses native Android audio session management and media key dispatching. It can pause any audio or video app currently playing on your device, including Spotify, YouTube, Audible, Apple Music, and podcast players.
Why does volume fading need a battery optimization exemption?
Modern Android versions put background applications into deep hibernation when your screen is locked. To allow Somna to smoothly reduce your volume every 10 seconds while you sleep, Android allows you to exempt the app from aggressive cgroup freezing.
